The Video Email mode is ideal resolution for sharing video (160 x 112) and Presentation mode increases the resolution to 320 x 240. Unlike other MPEG1 movies, MPEG Movie EX will allow you to record uninterrupted to the full capacity of the Memory Stick media. For example, the 128MB Memory Stick media will record up to 85 minutes of non-stop MPEG videos.

14-Bit DXP Analog-to-Digital Conversion*
Digital eXtended Processor (DXP) analog-to-digital conversion provides greater dynamic range -- preserving both highlight and shadow detail. Provides wider dynamic range between highlights and shadows by expressing each pixel with 14-bit instead 10-bit values. This helps overcome the visual "clipping" or "wash out" of highlight detail which has often limited digital photography. Digital images take on a visual depth and range which far more closely replicates the original scene.

Analog-to-Digital Conversion with Pass-Through
Convert and/or record any analog PAL video source to digital video via the DCR-TRV230's analog inputs. Analog PAL video can also be passed through the DCR-TRV740 directly to a PC via the i.LINK® interface in real time for easy PC editing of your anlalog footage.
USB Streaming
Sharing special moments with family and friends across the world is easy, with the incorporation of USB (Universal Serial Bus) Streaming into this 2002 Digital Handycam camcorder. USB Streaming allows users to stream live and recorded video to the Internet with their PCs using Microsoft® Windows® NetMeeting. This feature turns the camcorder into a webcam with a simple USB plug-in and Microsoft's free NetMeeting software. Now parents can either share baby's first steps live or stream a pre-recorded video of the event to loved ones who can't be there.
USB Interface
To augment the digital still capability and MPEG Movie Mode, the DCR-TRV740 incorporates a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector. With the supplied USB cable, the camcorder can transport images and MPEG video to a USB-equipped PC twenty times faster than camcorders with only a serial interface.

With Color Slow Shutter, full-color video is recorded in dimly lit places, enabling users to capture video of sleeping babies and nocturnal animals in color.
